Eldorado – Verse 1 (Page 1 & 2)

Here is the first illustration for the first verse of Edgar Allen Poe’s Eldorado.

Gaily bedight,
  A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
  Had journeyed long,
  Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.

Dad was asking what ‘bedight’ meant… so for those of you in the same boat. 

Bedight: Archaic for adorned or bedecked
